5 Steps In The Right Direction - 25.11.15

Many business owners are just looking for a place to start. Keeping their books in order can be a very time consuming and arduous task.

Here are 5 steps to get you kick started in the right direction

  1. Keep your personal and business finances separate: Mixing personal and businesses expenses and finances will inevitably result in confusion. Opening a separate bank account or credit card account can alleviate the stress of sorting your transactions at the end of the quarter or end of the year.
  2. Choose an accounting software that makes sense for your business: Deciphering between accounting packages can be difficult. If you are not already based in the cloud this could be your first step to streamlining your bookkeeping.
  3. Stay organised and plan ahead:  being up to date and organised as well as planning ahead can help avoid unexpected expenses and major problems
  4. Make a budget: A budget is a tool for planning how every penny is spent and is a guide to help business owners make clear headed decisions.
  5. Consider hiring a professional bookkeeper: If the books are starting to get on your nerves, let qualified people,  who enjoy numbers look after yours.
