The Fair Work Commission is responsible for reviewing and setting minimum wages for employees in the national workplace relations system.Each financial year the Commission’s Expert Panel for annual wage, conducts a wage review, and issues a decision. The decision and order generally come into operation on 1 July of the following financial year.
New rates of pay will be available on the 11th May unless otherwise instructed by the Fair Work Commission. It is the employers responsibility to pay the new rates to their employees. New award rates must be checked and implemented for the first full pay run 2016/2017 Financial Year.
